A MORPETH man is making his mark on the ski scene after gaining a top instructor accolade.
Christian Lindley has achieved all the requirements of the International Ski Instructors Association Level 4 award.
Since the age of 17, he has worked on the dozens of tests and many hundreds of hours of specialist tasks required as a ski instructor in the Alps – first during school and university holidays then latterly full-time.
The gruelling nature of the tests (including avalanche rescue and the ability to ski to Olympic standard) over seven years has been compared to Royal Marine or SAS levels of fitness and commitment.
Mr Lindley, who attended King Edward VI School, said: “Achieving this award was the proudest moment of my life so far and the culmination of my dream from the age of about seven.”
