ONE of Morpeth’s sporting institutions has entered into a new partnership that is believed to be a first in Northumberland.

The Associate Membership scheme between Morpeth Golf Club and Stocksfield Golf Club allows members of either club to play golf and enjoy the benefits of club membership at the other free of charge seven days a week, including select competition play.

The arrangement is for a trial period of one year and is free to existing members. New members joining either club who want to enjoy Associate Membership will pay a one-off registration fee of £25.

Terry Minett, general manager at Morpeth Golf Club, said: “Giving existing members the opportunity to play a different course at no extra charge complements our strategy and further enhances our membership offer.”
