A lovely calm Saturday saw Morpeth Cricket Club’s first annual golf day at Longhirst Hall Golf Club.

The day was organised to raise funds and interest in the cricket club.

More than 60 players took part in a Texas Scramble and there was a mixture of golfing abilities, which created a fun and competitive day on a well-prepared course.

The winning team were Ulgham Ultras – James Sander, Jack Brown, Kurran Dhugga and Lewis Reeves. They narrowly came out on top and won the shield, which was sponsored by Morpeth Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club President John Craigs.

The golfers’ refreshments were supplied by Marlish Spring Water.

Morpeth Cricket Club are always looking for new players and members. Junior coaching begins on Saturday at Longhirst from 10am, all are welcome.
