Blagdon Park (154) v Bedlington (127) Northumberland Cricket League, Premier Division
BLAGDON kept their title hopes alive with a 27-run victory against the league leaders.
The hosts batted first and got off to an excellent start as Mark Foster and David Gibson (27) put together a useful opening partnership of 63.
Foster was out for 38 soon afterwards and the rest of the top and middle order batsmen struggled. Park were reduced to 118 for eight, but Greg Senior (14 not out) and Henry Blake (14) scored what turned out to be crucial runs as they helped to get the score up to 154 all out.
Bedlington could only manage 127 in reply thanks to an excellent bowling performance. The wickets were shared between Alistair Clark, four, Gibson, three, Matthew Senior, two, and Blake, one.
Blagdon are now just one point behind Bedlington in the league table.
