TIME is running out to make a splash for charity.
The Riverside Leisure Centre in Morpeth and Ponteland Leisure Centre are two of the venues for Swimathon 2013 next weekend.
Thousands of people have already signed up to take part in 5k, 2.5k and 1.5k individual challenges or team 5k/1.5k challenges in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. They are open to all ages and abilities.
Ian Hamlet, Contract Manager at the Riverside Leisure Centre and Ponteland Leisure Centre, said: “Swimathon 2013 is the ideal event to train for, and participate in, with your friends and family.
“While setting yourself a challenge to work towards, you can also raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.”
The charity will use the funds raised to support nurses who provide care for those with terminal illnesses in their own homes.
Swimmer entry is open at www.swimathon.org until the end of Wednesday. Time slots on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, are available.
