Ulgham (206-9) v Hebburn (207-7) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One
ULGHAM were defeated on Saturday despite scoring a decent total.
The home side recovered well after losing openers Colin Tait and Mark Plummer early in their innings.
Roy Haygarth made an excellent 53 and there were also good knocks by Darrell Campbell (35) and middle order batsmen David Covell (34) and Gary Hall (23).
David Loxham scored a useful 16 in the final few overs as Ulgham finished their 50 overs on 206 for nine. There were 24 extras.
The visitors were in big trouble at seven wickets down. They were taken by Covell, three, David Moore, two, Campbell, one, and David Charlton, one.
But an excellent partnership between Buglass (42 not out) and Younger (35 not out) saw them home. The hosts did not help themselves by conceding 46 extras.
