A PAIR of brothers from Morpeth achieved decent results at the third meeting of this year’s RYA Team15 Inter-Club Championship.
The young windsurfers, all of whom are 15 years of age or under, were sailing at Kielder Water.
The strengthening breeze tested the youngsters, especially in the afternoon, and this produced some close racing – with the leading windsurfers in every class changing positions throughout the day.
In the 4.5m class, 13-year-old Leonardo Takiguchi, representing the Coquet Crushers, finished second behind Jane Vallance of Kielder Kestrels. Another member of the Amble-based club, Aaron Hobb, was third.
And in the 6.8m class, Leonardo’s brother and fellow Coquet Crusher Gustavo Takiguchi, 15, was just beaten by one point to come second behind Joe Thompson of Pugneys Pirates.
