A HOST of leading North East companies have signed up to sponsor a new British Eventing-affiliated event in Northumberland.
Work is well underway on the cross-country course for the Belsay Horse Trials, which will also feature show jumping and dressage action, despite one of the wettest winters on record.
Designed by international course designer Ronald Alexander, it is currently being built by Peter Wilson and Nick de Silva, supported by local contractors Stephen Hodgson and David Walton.
And now the competition organisers have revealed that law firm Dickinson Dees is headline sponsor.
Other premium sponsors for the event include accountancy firm Ryecroft Glenton alongside Lycetts Insurance, Benfield Motor Group, Brewin-Dolphin, Portland Green, Jobling Purser, Ward Hadaway, Land Factor and Foster Maddison. Also lending their support are two independent schools, Queen Margaret’s York and Mowden Hall Prep School.
“There is already a great buzz among the eventing community about the Belsay Horse Trials and I think that the high calibre of sponsors we’re announcing will add to that,” said joint organiser Laura de Wesselow.
A number of small local firms and equestrian businesses are supporting the June event by sponsoring individual jumps.
