Morpeth Golf Club is aiming to build on its initial success by giving more women the opportunity to try the sport.
It is inviting ladies to enrol on a course designed especially for beginners. The sessions are relaxed and friendly and equipment can be provided, so all that is needed is a pair of comfortable shoes, suitable golf clothing and a bit of enthusiasm to learn something new.
Last year, the club ran three beginner courses and 24 ladies learned the game. Some of them enjoyed the coaching so much that they have started playing golf regularly and joined the club.
The new course begins on Wednesday, June 25, and runs for six weeks from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. It costs £25.
Club professional David Clark will teach all the basic skills to help ladies get started with the game. There are opportunities to join various beginner packages for those who want to progress after completing the course.
There are only eight places available, so those interested are advised to call Morpeth Golf Club (01670 504942) as soon as possible to book their place.
