MORPETH badminton players are celebrating after achieving two promotions.

The Riverside Leisure Centre Badminton Club’s Men’s Squad won the Northumberland Badminton Association League E Division title after some excellent performances and will move up to the D group next season. They won the F title in their first season three years ago.

The Mixed Squad were successful in the F Division and will now play in the E Division. Head Coach and player Karen Davison has trained players at the leisure centre for many years and is pleased with the progress made by the squads since she entered them into the county league.

“We’ve all put in a lot of hard work and it is now starting to pay off,” she said.
