Stobswood Welfare (54-4) v Old Record Players (51) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One
STOBSWOOD got back to winning ways with a big home victory.
The visitors won the toss and decided to bat, but they were soon made to regret that decision.
Paul Patterson and Daniel Watson made life difficult for the batsmen and wickets tumbled once Corbett was dismissed for 15.
Old Record Players were all out for just 51, with Patterson achieving great figures of six for 17 off his eight overs. Watson claimed three scalps and Daniel Cook took the other wicket.
Although Darren Townsley was out for three, the home side were in command thanks to a partnership between Richard Marshall and Ian Watson (11).
A couple of quick wickets followed Watson’s dismissal, but Marshall (31 not out) saw Stobswood home.
