Heavy away defeat

Gateshead Ethnic Minorities (128-0) v Ulgham (126) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One

ULGHAM found the going tough away to the second placed side in the table.

The visitors were struggling after losing five of the top six batsmen very cheaply.

Gary Hall was in good nick, but just as he began to try to accelerate towards his half century, he was bowled for 26.

There was some resistance from the middle and lower order, with David Covell (23) and Chase Evans (12) forming a useful partnership.

David Moore finished on 20 not out, however the Ulgham total of 126 all out looked to be too low.

And that proved to be the case as the home side won by 10 wickets.

Krishnan was 61 not out, Hussain was unbeaten on 58 and there was a total of nine extras.
