Ponteland (76) v Annfield Plain (80-3) Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League, Division A1
PONTELAND’S long winning run came to an end after their batsmen were undone by two former Durham CC bowlers.
Only three home players could make double figures – Wayne Ritzema (21), Stuart Taylor (19) and Paul Lindsay (10). Neil Killeen (five for eight) and Melvyn Betts (three for 21) mainly did the damage as Pont were all out for just 76.
In reply, the visitors reached their target with seven wickets to spare. Their top scorer was Gohery (32 not out), while John Gardner took two wickets and Tom Common picked up the other one.
• The second team match between these sides was abandoned. The rain arrived after the first innings was played.
Ponteland II were sent in and made 235 for five.
David Waters was 93 not out and Jonathan Appleby made 77.
