KIT Gilham kept enough pedal power in reserve to ride clear of his fellow competitors and take the Sam Walton Memorial Border Trophy Road Race title.
The Herbalife/Lakes Bikes member finished the 86-mile course in a time of three hours, 33 minutes and 30 seconds.
Clubmate Simon Baxter was 45 seconds behind in second place. Baxter also picked up an award as he won the King of the Mountains competition.
Ben Ives of We Love Mountains RT won the sprint for third place, one minute and 28 seconds behind the winner. James Alder (VC Briganti) was fourth, Daniel Smith (Velo 29/OTR) finished fifth and Colin Humphrey (Team Sportscover) was in sixth.
The Barnesbury Cycling Club event started and finished in Netherwitton.
The course also covered Longwitton, Scots Gap, Mitford, Pigdon, Rothley, Elsdon, Hepple and Hartburn and the primes were located at Ritton Bank, Coldrife, Gibbet and Bilsmoor.
