Blagdon Park (117-8) v Stocksfield (114) Northumberland Cricket League, Premier Division
BLAGDON were pushed hard, but they managed to secure a crucial two-wicket home victory.
They won the toss and decided to field. Stocksfield started their innings well thanks to Brown (54) and Wylie (19), but they were pegged back by some excellent bowling.
Paul Johnson took five wickets and Alistair Clark and David Gibson claimed three and two scalps respectively as the away side were all out for 114.
The hosts were never fully comfortable in their innings. They were on top when Matthew Senior (21) and Shaun Collins (17) put together a useful partnership, but more wickets fell cheaply and they were reduced to 90 for eight.
However, Greg Senior (14 not out), Henry Blake (seven not out) and a few extras saw them home.
