Ulgham (172-7) v Blyth (173-2) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One
ULGHAM slipped further into relegation trouble with an eight-wicket defeat.
They started well, batting first, as Colin Tait and Mark Plummer put together a decent opening stand until Plummer was bowled for 21.
But accurate Blyth bowling made it difficult to score at a fast rate and it became even tougher when Darrell Campbell was caught when on 22 and Tait was dismissed for 61.
Further contributions from Peter Wilson (19), Craig Turnbull (13) and David Moore (13 not out) at least gave the home side a chance of a win as they finished their 50 overs on 172-7.
In reply, Blyth looked assured at the crease and by the time Moore trapped Dent lbw for 55 they were well on their way to victory.
Gary Hall took the wicket of Lawrence (31) but Clark (43 not out) and Kemp (three not out) saw the visitors home.
