Youngsters from Stobhillgate First School have won through to the regional final of the School Games.

They will represent the Morpeth and Ponteland partnership in Quad Kids, atheltics for younger children.

The events incorporate four skills: sprinting, long distance running, throwing and jumping.

There were 26 teams who took part and Stobhillgate picked up a number of top ten places individually.

The athletics concept is endorsed and supported by England Athletics.

Athletes’ performances are scored against results tables and the team with the highest cumulative points is the winner.

The team representing Stobhillgate was Jack Kirby, Abbie Grieves, Joe Chishti, Max Lyons, Konnor Purvis, Daniella Pringle, Rebecca Pringle, Pippa Sayers, Aleisha Farrier, Alfie Laskey.
