AS well as studying for her A-Levels, a Ponteland High School student is preparing for the biggest test of her eventing career to date.
Victoria Devlin and mount Right Rebel beat numerous competitors, spanning from the borders of Scotland through to Leeds, for that all-important spot on the Under 18 regional eventing team.
She will join the 10-strong Open Novice squad together with a BE100 team as the region presents their finest eventers for the final championship event at Weston Park International Horse Trials this month.
Although the prospect is a bit daunting, the 18-year-old is also looking forward to the challenge.
She said: “I am feeling overwhelmed with excitement, but also very nervous as I want to give my best performance of the year and, most of all, don’t want to let the team down.”
