Bates Cottages (175-8) v Blagdon Park (225) Northumberland Cricket League, Premier Division
BLAGDON made it ten wins for the season, but they were made to work for this victory.
Batting first, the visitors lost two early wickets, but a decent partnership between David Gibson (64) and Shaun Collins (34) took them past 100.
After falling to 145 for six, middle order batsmen Pirasannan Inpathurai (37) and Tom Lakey (23) boosted the run rate and they were eventually all out for 225.
Bates Cottages started their innings well and looked set for victory thanks to knocks by Symington (50), Golightly (35) and Doyle (35).
However, Paul Johnson and Alistair Clark took three and two wickets respectively to stop their momentum and the other bowlers did not give much away to restrict the run rate.
Gibson took a couple of scalps late in the innings and there was also a run-out as Blagdon won by 50 runs.
