FORMER Sunderland and Newcastle United striker Andrew Cole is set to join Nottingham Forest on a one year deal.
Cole, who only managed seven appearances for the Black Cats without finding the target, is expected to join the Championship side next week on a free transfer.

He was released by Sunderland at the end of last season.

Cole spent the latter stages of the 2007-08 season on loan at Burnley, where he scored six goals in 13 appearances.

The 36-year-old is the fourth player added to the Forest squad in the close season.

Manager Colin Calderwood has also signed Robert Earnshaw for £2.65m, midfielder Paul Anderson, on loan from Liverpool, and Frenchman Guy Moussi.
