SUNDERLAND winger Ross Wallace has turned down a £1m move to Preston North End.
The club accepted a bid for the Scotsman, but he hopes to stay and prove his worth at the Stadium of Light.

The former Celtic flankman played almost every game in the first half of last season, but was transfer-listed in January before injuring his knee in training.

He returned to the fold to feature in the closing day loss to Arsenal, and is determined to fight for his place again as he enters the final year of his current deal.
