Carol singing spreads cheer

A CHILDREN’S choir has been spreading festive cheer to older people in Morpeth.

About 40 pupils from Abbeyfields First School performed carols old and new to entertain residents of the nearby St Christopher’s House sheltered housing scheme.

The youngsters are regular visitors to the home and to thank them for their performance, residents baked some mince pies and other refreshments.

Resident Pat Jones said: “I love to hear the children sing. I always look forward to seeing their excited faces and hearing their chatter reminds me what life’s all about.”
