A SCHOOL community celebrated the festive season in style.

As in the last couple of years, a Santa’s Grotto was amalgamated with the Christmas Fair, organised by the PTA, at Ellington First School.

The fair raises money for the school and gives local traders the opportunity to sell some of their goods from a stall.

In addition, a two-metre tall Christmas tree was put together by one of the parents, who has expertise in this area.

Ellington First School headteacher Kevin Vardy said: “Staff and parents did a great job in creating a magical walkway through the school yard to Santa’s Grotto and making the grotto look gorgeous.

“The children were very excited and they also loved the tree, which made the celebrations even more special this year.

“The PTA members are fantastic. They put in a tremendous amount of work for this event. They raise significant funds for the school and give our pupils some fun events throughout the school year.”
