A GROUP of artists has ventured into Morpeth for its latest fund-raising initiative.

Members of Longhorsley Art Club made a calendar a couple of years ago featuring sights of the village.

Now for 2014, a total of 12 pieces have been produced for Views of Morpeth.

The artwork was inspired by Morpeth’s historic buildings and the fact that a lot of events were held in the town in recent months. There is a mix of traditional views and some more unusual images. The drawings and paintings were all done in watercolour or pastel.

The 2014 calendars are priced at £6 each and they are available from J & J.S. Mackay in Bridge Street, Morpeth, or from Margaret Scott on 01670 788499.

Longhorsley Art Club meets in Longhorsley Village Hall on the second and fourth Fridays of the month, between 2pm and 4.30pm. New members are always welcome.
