Scouts of all ages marched through Morpeth to honour the Patron Saint of England.
Led by Morpeth Pipe Band, Mayor of Morpeth Joan Tebbutt, Coun Alison Byard and Castle Morpeth District Scouts Commissioner Clive Rich, the young people from Morpeth, Pegswood, Ponteland and Stannington went on the annual St George’s Day parade to St James’ Church, where more than 300 people packed the aisles.
A short and entertaining service was led by the Rector of Morpeth and Scouts District Chaplain, Rev Simon White. All Scouts renewed their own promises to do their duties to God, the Queen and their communities and to think of others.
During the parade service, several young people were presented with Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates by the Mayor.
