THE twists and turns and heartbreak of love were laid bare in spectacular style in Ponteland High School’s A-Level production of Willy Russell’s Stags and Hens.
Set against the backdrop of 1970s Liverpool, the play focuses on pre-marriage antics as stag and hen nights collide in a rundown club.
It gripped audiences from beginning to end. All involved put on an outstanding show, slipping easily into their roles with passion and enthusiasm producing peals of laughter. The cast played their roles perfectly, with the zealous portrayal of the bubbly bridal party juxtaposed to the Stag party who tried so hard to be ever so cool.
The drama students gave life to a play which carries the very real message of the pressures brought on by both life and society; a message which is becoming a realisation for many teens.
