A look at wartime at Wallington

STEP back in time and discover all about life on the Home Front during the Second World War at Wallington this weekend.

Follow the family trail to find out what it was like to be an evacuee at the Northumberland estate, see wartime vehicles in the courtyard and hear about the real children who were sent to Wallington during the war.

Other activities will also be available and some will have a small charge. Normal admission charges apply.

Wartime Wallington will take place on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 4pm.

Those who enjoy putting on walking boots can join Maurice Holliday to go through the estate’s beautiful countryside and experience the natural world through verse.

Residents who want to take part in Wednesday’s walk between 11am and 3pm are asked to bring a light lunch and waterproofs. Tickets, payable to the guide, are priced £3 – meet at the Clocktower.
