PUPILS at a Ponteland school enjoyed a vivid and lively performance from author Peter J Murray.

The fiction writer for children and teenagers, known for his Mokee Joe series, did readings and used Cinemascope technology to put over images of his new books in a dramatic way.

He performed in front of Year 5 and 6 pupils at Richard Coates Middle School.

Ponteland First School children also joined the presentation as part of Coates’ transition activities.

Mr Murray’s visit was an example of the Ponteland Schools Partnership’s work to enhance local children’s love of literature, especially engaging boys in their reading.
