BUDDING young actors and film-makers in Morpeth have the chance to be part of three exciting new feature films.

St James’ Community Centre has been chosen to host rehearsals for the films, which will be shot in Middlesbrough entirely by a cast and crew of eight to 18-year-olds.

There will be opportunities for young people to work behind the camera through directing and filming as well taking a starring role on screen for the ACT 2 CAM project.

The films will be premiered at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle then entered into film festivals worldwide.

ACT 2 CAM is a film company that specialises in making films with young people. It provides training and experience in screen-acting and film-making, giving youngsters the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the film and television industry.

Company Director Stephen Woods said: “There are some very talented young actors and film-makers in the North East who need the opportunity to make films and get their work seen.

“We are delighted to be filming in a great location like Morpeth.

“I look forward to finding out what the young people here have to offer.”

If you are aged between eight and 18 and would like to take part in the films, either on screen or behind the camera, e-mail info@act2cam.com or call 0191 2801345.
