Morpeth Camera Club
ON Tuesday, April 16, Morpeth Camera Club held its Annual General Meeting, chaired by outgoing chairman, Dave Illingworth.
He reported that the club had a very successful year in terms of finance, increased membership and it has retained a very healthy position regarding success at club and inter-club competition level.
A new committee was elected, along with a new chairman Steve Mcdonald and new vice chairman Glyn Trueman, who look forward to continuing the good work of their predecessors.
Due to an increase of membership and competition entries, assistant competition secretaries have been appointed.
This being the penultimate meeting for the club this season, Davy Bolam announced that during the summer break he will again be leading his series of summer walks, which are a great opportunity to take advantage of the evening light, get out and about to locations in the area and exchange ideas with fellow members.
The chairman announced the news that Barry Payling, a photography circuit lecturer based in Rotherham, has agreed to host the club’s 2013 Annual Spectacular in November. He is among a unique band of photographers in the world who practise pure photography.
His images are exactly as they were seen through the camera lens with no manipulation whatsoever, either by analogue or digital means. His subjects include landscapes, patterns, still waters, flowing water, coastal scenes and trees.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all outgoing committee members for their hard work during the season.
The raffle and coffee followed a very constructive and enjoyable evening.
