CHILDREN have been invited to take a trip back in time over the summer holidays at a county tourist attraction.
School is almost out for the summer and English Heritage is providing a fun educational experience for children and their parents to enjoy over the six-week break at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens.
The Time Travellers Go... events club is giving youngsters the opportunity to take part in some medieval-themed activities, such as dressing up as knights in a real suit of armour and taking part in medieval dancing and crafts.
There will also be sword drills and arts sessions.
English Heritage Events Manager Jon Hogan said: “The Time Travellers Go... events act as an exclusive club for little ones, providing a fun environment for them to explore the past and see how people used to live.
“They are designed to capture children’s imaginations and keep them entertained over the school holidays.”
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The club will be running daily between this Saturday and Friday, August 24, from 11am to 4.30pm.
Entry is £7.70 for adults, £6.90 concessions, £4.60 children and £20 for a family group. It is free for English Heritage members.
An additional £1 will be charged for every child, member and non member, to help Belsay Hall fund the activities.
