AN Ellington woman shared the limelight with a rock and roll star after success at an international fashion event.
Estee Anna Lindley was among the winners at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, which were held in New York City.
She was victorious in the Most Creative Student Collection with items she designed for her final degree project at the University of Central Lancashire, which featured bright colours and a 1920s theme.
The 23-year-old said: “I was a bit star-struck because Liam Gallagher won an award for his Pretty Green collection just before my category.
“I was gobsmacked when my name was announced. It was amazing to think that I had gone from Northumberland and university in Preston to an international award in such a short space of time.
“Winning this accolade is a massive boost for my career.”
Estee is currently employed as a designer for a Blackburn-based company that supplies clothing for big name retailers and she has recently returned from a works trip to Pakistan.
“I would love to have my own clothing label in the future, but first I need to work my way up the industry and save some money,” she said.
