RESIDENTS looking for creative festive gifts will have plenty of options at a Christmas Fair to launch Morpeth’s newest arts venue.
Fairmoor Arts, Crafts and Collectables is run by a group of artists from across the region who have united with the aim of enabling a community of people to sell their work and create an attractive location for all the family.
There will be an eclectic mixture of artisan-made products, gifts and fine arts, and festive face-painting will be available for children.
Located behind the Fairmoor Vets and Penny Services Fuel Station at the north end of Morpeth, the new initiative will provide affordable retail space for up to 40 craftworkers, artists and retailers and will be open seven days a week. There are also some working studios.
Naomi Walker, a local artist involved in the project, said: “Being able to exhibit and sell work from an affordable venue is vital for those working as artists and craftworkers.
“Morpeth is a great location to be able to sell from and I love the idea that we will be able to sell work seven days of the week without needing to be on site.”
Entry is free and visitors can talk with some of the artists and craftworkers about their pieces.
The Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.
