Filmgoers snap up tickets

TICKETS are selling fast for the next screening at Morpeth’s new community cinema.

The Greater Morpeth Development Trust (GMDT) re-launched film showings at Morpeth Town Hall earlier this month as a full house watched Oscar-winner The King’s Speech.

Now the second screening in the series is also looking popular as people snap up tickets to see The Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman, next Friday.

GMDT Arts and Cultural Interest Board Director Frank Rescigno said: “We were delighted with the tremendous response to the first screening and public interest is again high for the showing of the next film so our advice is to book early to avoid missing out.”

The film will be shown in the Town Hall on Friday, October 7, at 7pm.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from Morpeth Town Hall, the Tourist Information Office in The Chantry and from GMDT on 01670 503866.

Films lined up for later in the year are Mamma Mia and It’s A Wonderful Life.
