THERE was a full house as a famous crime writer launched her latest work at Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum.
Ann Cleeves, who is best known for her Vera detective series, revealed her gripping new novel Harbour Street at the venue on Thursday.
The book is the sixth in the Vera series, which has been made into an ITV detective drama starring Brenda Blethyn and filmed in the North East.
About 60 people attended the book launch, which included the author talking about her work, giving a reading and signing copies of her work.
Northumberland County Council organised the event.
Policy Board Member for Culture Val Tyler said: “We know crime fiction is really popular. We are privileged to be associated with Ann Cleeves and the Vera series.”
