A FREE workshop for poetry fans is being offered by a local women’s group.
The Women’s Health Advice Centre (WHAC) will present the Just Poetry session at Morpeth Library next week.
Participants are invited to take a pen and paper and a copy of their favourite poem, and the group will look at different examples of poetry, as well as give people the chance to write their own, using various styles and structures.
It is open to men and women, beginners and experienced writers, of any age.
The workshop is part of the Ashington-based centre’s summer programme, which includes a Telling Stories event in Choppington, This Is Your Life at Woodhorn Museum and Archives, Just Jhoom Bollywood dancing in Blyth and Pegswood, and zumba and Indian head massage in Ashington.
The Morpeth poetry session will take place at the library on Thursday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Refreshments will be provided.
Just Jhoom Bollywood dancing will be at Pegswood Community Project on Wednesday, August 29, from 10am to noon. For more information, or to enrol for any events, contact WHAC on 01670 853977, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
