HUNDREDS of fans came along to a Morpeth bookshop to meet a famous actor and television presenter.

Robson Green visited Waterstones in Sanderson Arcade to sign copies of his new book Extreme Fishing, which accompanies his hit TV series featuring the fantastic fishing travels that have taken him to all corners of the world.

Shoppers were brimming with excitement as they waited in the queue on Saturday afternoon and the man himself, who is originally from Hexham and used to live at Mitford, enjoyed chatting to them and Waterstones staff about his adventures and the North East.

After the session, he popped to Curiously Wicked for afternoon tea, where he was presented with a chocolate sculpture of a fish.

• This Saturday, crime writer Bea Davenport will be appearing at Waterstones between 2pm and 4pm to discuss her debut novel ‘In Too Deep’.
