THE switch-over roadshow will be coming to Morpeth to help viewers find out more about digital television.
The event has been organised by Digital UK to help locals prepare for the switch from analogue to digital television in September.
Research suggests that around 15 per cent of households are still watching analogue channels on at least one set, but they will soon be switched off.
The roadshow will be held in Morpeth Market Place for people to find out when the switch-over is happening and the options available for going digital.
Specially trained advisers can discuss how eligible people can get their sets converted through the Switchover Help Scheme and there will be technical demonstrations on issues such as how to re-tune a digital box, as well as the chance to ask questions.
People can also meet the switch-over robot, Digit Al.
Digital UK Regional Manager John Askew said: “The whole of the Tyne Tees region, covering more than three million viewers, will have switched to digital by the end of September. This is a great opportunity for people to meet the teams from Digital UK and the Switchover Help Scheme, find out how to prepare, and learn what assistance is available.”
The switch-over will begin in Morpeth on Wednesday, September 12.
The roadshow will run on Wednesday, from 9am to 5pm. Anyone unable to attend can find information from Digital UK on 08456 505050, or visit www.digitaluk.co.uk
