A WELL-KNOWN Morpeth artist is marking her debut solo exhibition this month.
Lynda Swift is a familiar face at the Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering, where she helps out as a volunteer, and she is known for her paintings inspired by the cultural festival.
She also paints many local scenes.
Now Ms Swift is putting the work on show in an exhibition at The People’s Theatre in Heaton.
The event is titled Miscellany to reflect the wide range of styles and subjects of exhibits, and there will be 40 original works on show.
They include watercolour, acrylic, pastels, ink and embroidery work, with subjects ranging from landscapes, wildlife and flowers to fantasy and sci-fi. There are also local scenes and portraits.
The exhibition runs until Friday, March 29 on performance nights. Viewings at other times can be arranged by telephone on 0191 2655020.
