The work of a Morpeth filmmaker has been on the big screen at a UK festival.

Alex Ayre, who is based at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre, has had his work on show at a private screening as part of the handmade festival in Leicester, which celebrates music and arts.

His film Looking Through These Miles, has been a couple of years in the making and is a documentary,

It has been made on the Morpeth-based ‘80s boogie band Splitcrow (John Dickinson, Barry Winlow, Bob Davidson and Nigel Stawart).

Alex won an award for Best Factual Film at the Royal Television Society Young People’s Media Festival for his short documentary Kitman and won at Berwick Film and Media Festival.
