THE Camera Club held its second Open Projected Digital Image Competition of the season on Tuesday, February 12.
Each member had been invited to submit up to three images on any subject, which were then viewed by a Northern Counties Photographic Federation recognised judge.
On this occasion, Keith Robertson, ARPS, AFIAP, of Hexham Photographic Society had agreed to perform this task and after studying the 63 pictures, he returned with the results.
He commented on each individual photograph – giving valuable advice on composition, subject matter, use of light and camera technique – before announcing his selected top five.
In first place was Dirt Riders – Out in Front by Davy Bolam.
Images taken by Steve McDonald were second and third, Lunch Break and Blea Tarn respectively. Fourth went to Mark Harrison for From Russia with Love and Drummers of the Night gave John Thompson a placing of fifth.
Mr Robertson also awarded a highly-commended accolade to four pictures: Physco Rocks and Rocks at Whitley Bay by Dave Illingworth, Dead End by Alan Todd and Between the Bones by Mr Harrison.
The competition judge was thanked for his time and effort by Mr McDonald, the club’s Vice-Chairman.
