Passengers in the driving seat

BUS passengers in Northumberland can snap to it to reward their favourite driver or try to win themselves a treat.

Arriva North East is urging customers to nominate a driver they think has gone the extra mile to help them in the UK Bus Awards.

The Top National Bus Driver title aims to recognise someone who is friendly, helpful, conscientious and mindful of passengers’ comfort and wellbeing — a true professional.

To make a nomination visit www.topnationalbusdriver.co.uk by Friday, June 17.

Meanwhile, the bus company is seeking to recognise its talented passengers in a photography competition.

People are invited to submit images of buses at work in various settings and weathers to show how they play an essential role in daily life.

There are no age restrictions.

The national winner will receive a Sony digital SLR camera, while the North East winner will be handed vouchers for a photography shop. All entries will be published on-line.

Photographs should be e-mailed to photo@arriva.co.uk by Sunday, July 31.
