THE fourth staging of Hebron Village Show was once again well supported by the community.

Residents competed for prizes in the garden produce and household produce sections.

There were non-competitive displays of paintings, crafts, photography and needlework.

The Village Hall at St Cuthbert’s Church also played host to a social evening after the judging had been completed.

One of the organising team, Carol Chapple, said: “The judges were impressed with the number and standard of entries from such a small community.

“David Dungait in particular has frightened everybody else entering the swede/turnip category.

“The show is talked about in the weeks leading up to the event and people do garden visits to have a look how the opposition are doing. Afterwards, friendly banter is continued for weeks.

“Everyone involved in organising the event puts in a lot of hard work to ensure things run smoothly and that those who attend have a good time.”
