THE Friends of Morpeth Museum held their AGM recently.
Ken Stait retired as Chairman with thanks. Coun Nic Best was elected the new Chairman and Kim Bibby-Wilson was elected Vice Chairman. A review of the year included helping provide funds for the Collingwood bust plinth, and plans for future activities were discussed.
Members of Morpeth Antiquarian Society gave a fascinating presentation on their work providing displays for Heritage Open Days, the Town Hall and special events. A film was shown by Maurice Teasdale of the Emily Davison funeral procession route, with images of 1913 and 2013.
The evening ended with refreshments and thanks to organiser Secretary Stevie Matthews.
