A UNIQUE sleep-over will take place in Belsay this weekend as visitors get a rare insight into its Hall, Castle and Gardens.
English Heritage will present the Museums at Night: Historic House Family Sleep-over at the venue on Saturday.
Families will be welcomed by a costumed performer with a welcome drink, followed by a tour of the Hall and its secret servants’ quarters, before a warming supper in its tea rooms.
There will be a twilight walk to the medieval castle for some storytelling in the keep, then it’s back to the Hall for a bedtime drink.
The ten bedrooms will then be given over to families, with each group in its own room, complete with campbeds. After a good night’s sleep it will be back to the tearooms for a hearty Northumbrian breakfast.
The experience runs from 7pm to 8am and is suitable for families with children over the age of eight.
Tickets cost £55 for adults and £45 for children. Booking is essential on 01661 881636.
