VISITORS can find out the facts behind the folklore at a behind-the-scenes tour of the Archives at Woodhorn.
On Tuesdays until the end of August, the section will be opening its doors to showcase the information it holds about notorious people in Northumberland, from heroes to smugglers, whose tales have survived through the years.
Those who come along can have a look at Woodhorn’s collection of maps and papers and with craft activities, storytelling and games, there will be something for all ages. Visitors can also use its computers to trace their family history.
Tours take place between 1pm and 2.30pm. There is no charge to attend. For more information, ring 01670 528013.
