A GROUP which supports two children’s centres in the county has received a prestigious award.

The Children and Families First organisation, set up by parents to support the Coquet and Amble facilities, was voted Homes for Northumberland’s Best Community Group.

The award put the icing on the cake for the group during the festive season as the young people at the centres had also enjoyed a visit from Santa.

He gave his reindeer a break by travelling in a Volvo, but he was still bearing gifts as he made a special delivery of £300 of arts and crafts materials from the car company.
