CUSTOMERS can have a cuppa or two for charity next week at a garden centre near Morpeth.

Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre is inviting people to go along to its event, which is part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

General Manager Roger Wale said: “We will be providing free tea and coffee and inviting customers to make a donation to the charity.

“We hope lots of people come along to the event and help us support this worthy cause.”

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is the charity’s flagship event. Last year, more than 43,000 official coffee mornings were held, raising more than £8m.

The Heighley Gate event will take place on Friday, September 30, from 9am to noon.
