Award-winning artist Sam Smith dropped into Northumberland this weekend saying that the region was his ‘second home’.

The Grammy Award winner visited the region at the weekend, posting on his public Instagram account that he was sending time with his family.

Smith tweeted that he was ‘king of the castle’, the castle being our very own Bamburgh.

The artist also posted a video on the social media site of him walking towards the castle with the Harry Potter theme music playing.

This morning he posted on social media to say he’d had the ‘lushest weekend away’ and said the area is ‘my second home and one of my favourite places in the world’.

This isn’t the first time he’s been spotted in Northumberland. He was snapped on Twitter by Will Robson last year when he was visiting the village.
