A car dealership is trumpeting a community music initiative as it announces new sponsorship.

Bristol Street Motors Ford Morpeth, based in Coopies Lane, will support the Bedlington Brass Initiative.

The scheme embraces all ages from eight upwards, with a youth band and community band spanning three generations. It also works with ten schools in the area, and more than 300 students.

The project is organised by Music Partnership North - Northumberland, which provides a range of musical activities for young people, including tuition, workshops and performances.

Bristol Street Motors is also continuing sponsorship of the Dunstan Silver Band, which it has supported since 2009.

General Manager Dave Anderson said: “It is important that local businesses take an active role in the community and the Bedlington Brass Initiative is a project that encompasses people of all ages.”
